CREATIVE FUND RAISING

Saturday, April 2, at 4:00 p.m. Deo Cantamus will present another of their outstanding music programs of worship, praise, and reflection. AGAPE will feature the Deo Cantamus chorale, soloists, and the “Let the Children Praise” honor choir. The concert will be held in the auditorium of Fourth Baptist Church, 900 Forestview Lane North, Plymouth, Minnesota. During the concert, Artistic Director Al Hawkins will be presenting a unique opportunity for people to get involved with a new project called “Abundantly Wrought.” The purpose of this fund-raiser is to make possible a professional recording of Tyndale: A Reformation Oratorio and Songs for the Unborn by composer Joshua Bauder. Dr. Bauder has worked with Deo Cantamus in the past to bring these two compositions to fruition in the concert hall. These important works need to be shared with the Church around the globe. I would strongly urge each one of you to partner with Deo Cantamus by giving toward this worthwhile project. You ca

CREATIVE MEDICAL MISSIONS

Dr. Michelle Lenz has a private practice in Michigan, but her heart is in missions. More than twenty-five times she has visited various countries of the world, treating patients, assisting with surgery and demonstrating the love of God. Thirteen of those trips have been to Thailand, and on several of them she has been accompanied by her daughters. “I wanted them to see that life is very different for young people in other countries, that there are many people who still have not heard the gospel, and that they could play a role in spreading the gospel to those people.” The girls helped people find their way through the clinic, took inventory, and carried supplies. They played with the children when their parents were in treatment. The trips involved sleeping in uncomfortable places and eating unusual foods. “They learned to communicate God’s love nonverbally, through a smile, a sticker, a game, or a gentle touch,” says Michelle. “The best part about going on missions trips has been wat

CREATIVE PERSPECTIVE

In any crowd, where we see faces, a child sees only legs. Seeing through the eyes of a child provides perspective impossible to gain in any other way. Even our understanding of familiar Bible stories can change when we allow ourselves to see those stories though the eyes of children. “Bible Kids Speak Up” provides that perspective. 36 video scripts for children and teens re-tell family Bible stories in the words of children who lived through those events. Listen to the son of Moses tell how he watched his father at the burning bush. Hear David describe his encounter with King Saul while playing his harp. Be amazed along with the shepherd boy who accompanies his father to the manger. 36 stories. Children of Exodus, children of kings, children of Bethlehem, children of Jerusalem, and children of Acts. The monologues can be used for Christmas and Easter programs, video-taped and sent to grandparents, read by children during family devotions or simply enjoyed because they p
