CREATIVE ACTING

The Chosen is a television drama based on the life of Jesus. The final episode of season three, “The Feeding of the 5,000,” will include an appearance by Shelli Virtue. Those who chose to provide support for the crowd-funded project at a certain level were invited to be extras in the film-making process.

Shelli spent a week in Texas as one of the 5,000, so she doesn’t hold great hopes of actually appearing on screen when the episode airs. But “the experience of being part of something like this was far more exciting to me than the possibility of being on camera,” she writes.

The one part of the scene where you might see her includes the section where the disciples are passing out bread. Luke Dimyan, who portrays Judas, handed her bread three times because the scene had to be filmed in three takes.

The reason Shelli chose to make the trip to Texas at her own expense stemmed from a new ladies Bible study she is writing, focusing on lessons to be learned from the disciples. For more information about her Bible studies she can be contacted at Shelli@shellivirtue.com.
