CREATIVE RETIREMENT MINISTRY

 


After forty-four years of ministry, Carroll and Becky Miller have entered into a key role with the International Messenger Staff. They travel to Poland three times each year to provide support and spiritual care for missionaries. The conference they are presently attending near Krakow will bring them into contact with missionaries from Romania, Ukraine, England, Hungary, Slovakia, Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, and the Czech Republic. Since those from Egypt have been denied passports, they plan to visit them in a separate conference in November.

During these encouraging sessions for missionaries, Carroll and Becky have shared seminars on Discipleship and Finances. These retirement trips are simply an extension of what they did in ministry. Since 1997 they have led short term missions trips with over two hundred participants and have had the joy of seeing ten to twenty people make decisions for Christ each year.

Utilizing Zoom has made teaching possible
even in the chaos of COVID. But what they really enjoy is the opportunity to visit other countries in person, provide follow-up for those they have seen saved, and encourage missionaries in their work for Christ.

CREATIVE FAMILY GROWTH

And baby makes eight!   You may remember the story from an earlier blog post: our niece Kim and her husband began adoption proceedings and quickly grew to a family of seven. Five siblings came to them from various states where they had been in foster care. Kim and Kevin welcomed them into a loving home, choosing to keep the brothers and sister together as a family unit.   In addition to taking on the sudden responsibility of a large family, Kim found herself needing surgery for a goiter which was severely impacting her oxygen intake. Then they received word that another sibling would be born in April of 2024. Their hearts longed to add the new boy to their expanding family, but health, finances, and the lack of more room in their SUV seemed to say no.   After the surgery, Kim found out she could breathe again, and the outlook began to change.  It was time to make room for eight.
