CREATIVE ADAPTATION
CREATIVE ADAPTATION
When a group from Fourth Baptist Church went to Spain
recently to work with Missionary Seth Grotzke, one of the tools they used was an
adaptation of John Bunyan’s “Pilgrim’s Progress.” Seth adapted the story as a
means of sharing Christ with those who are pilgrims themselves, walking the
Camino Santiago. The book includes a shorter version of the original story
along with questions which can initiate discussions with others sharing the
pilgrimage.
This adaptation of “Pilgrim’s Progress” can be
downloaded to your Kindle from Amazon for just $.99. Or you can purchase the paperback.
Because it is a shorter version of the classic, it would be ideal for reading
to younger children. Discussing the questions with teens or even pre-teens
would provide parents with many opportunities for interaction with their own
children. And the book makes an excellent tool to share with others, opening
doors for evangelism.
My suggestion would be to go to Amazon right now and
download the book. You will enjoy reading or perhaps re-reading the familiar
story. At the same time, it will enable you to share the journey of Pilgrim
with those who have never experienced the joy of following the steps he takes
on his trip to the Celestial City.
The complete title is “Pilgrim’s Progress for Today’s
Pilgrim (Camino De Santiago)” by Seth Grotzke and John Bunyan.
