Creative Short Films
The love of making films started in my childhood. With nearly thirty short films under my belt, I started creating a short film every month by and for the local community. Since I own FuZion Videos, a media production company, we produce high quality short films with a minimal budget.
Many of our previous short films were created around Christian themes, but our most recent monthly films focus around the community. We believe every good story has a problem with a solution, and every good business solves a problem. So we started working with local businesses and non-profits to encourage local involvement of businesses and talent.
Our short films show with the trailers at the local theater. The owner of the theater is heavily invested in the local community and happily added our monthly shorts.
While our short is in the theater, we upload weekly "behind the scenes" and "how to" videos. At the end of the month, we release the short film on our YouTube channel and share it all on our FuZion Films website.
Since we create a film every month, our process needs to be efficient. We start by finding a business or non-profit wanting to connect with our local community. We meet and discuss different cinematic stories we can tell that match with their services. We do not want to make commercials, so we work hard to create engaging stories instead of traditional ads.
Through all of this, we found we have a bigger impact for Christ as we work with the local community. Our opportunities to share the Gospel with our volunteer team grew exponentially over our reach with our Christian shorts. Although we are not currently making Christian shorts, we have plans to make more of them with our SYNC Ministries program.
Bio: Luke Mielke. I started FuZion Videos in 2008 while attending Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. Upon the closing of that school I transferred to Maranatha Baptist University and started teaching while earning my MFA in Film Directing from Academy Art University, graduating in 2016. My wife and I, along with our sons, are heavily involved in our church’s media ministries as well.
